Terms of Service
Last updated: 16 July 2026
These terms govern use of the Cassandra AML service ("the service") by the practice that creates an account ("you", "your practice"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms.
1. What the service is — and is not
Cassandra AML is a workspace that helps Australian tax agents and accounting practices organise and evidence their AML/CTF compliance work. It is not legal advice, does not guarantee compliance with any law, and is not endorsed by AUSTRAC or any regulator. Decisions produced by the service are based on configurable rule content and the facts you enter; responsibility for your practice's compliance, including the interpretation of legislation and lodgement of reports, remains with your practice and its qualified advisers.
2. Accounts and security
- You must provide accurate practice and registration details and keep them current.
- Each user must maintain their own credentials and multi-factor authentication; accounts must not be shared.
- You are responsible for the actions of users you invite and the roles and restricted-access grants you assign them, including limiting access to suspicious-matter information within your practice.
- Notify us promptly at security@cassandraaml.com of any suspected unauthorised access.
3. Founding period and fees
The service is currently provided free of charge during its founding period; billing is not yet enabled. Published prices are launch commitments. We will give account owners at least 30 days' written notice before any fees commence, and continued use after fees commence requires an active subscription. Announced founding-practice pricing locks will be honoured as published.
4. Your data
- Your practice owns the compliance records it enters. You grant us a licence to host and process them solely to provide the service.
- We handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
- On termination, we will make your records available for export for at least 30 days before deletion from the live service, except where law requires retention.
5. Acceptable use
You must not use the service to:
- break the law, including using it to facilitate rather than detect financial crime;
- enter records for a practice or clients you are not authorised to act for;
- probe, disable or circumvent security or access controls, or access another practice's data;
- resell or provide the service to third parties without our written agreement.
6. Service availability
We operate the service with reasonable skill and care. During the founding period the service is provided without an uptime commitment; we publish our engineering evidence and will introduce service levels as the service matures. We may modify features with reasonable notice of material changes.
7. Intellectual property
We own the service, its software and content (excluding your data). You may use them only as needed to use the service. Feedback you provide may be used to improve the service without obligation.
8. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes rights under the Australian Consumer Law or any other right that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where liability can be limited, our total liability for claims arising in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid for the service in that period (or A$100 while the service is free), and neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss. You remain solely responsible for your practice's compliance decisions and lodgements.
9. Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms on reasonable notice, or immediately where necessary to protect the service or other customers. Clauses that by their nature should survive (including data export, liability and IP) survive termination.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we will give account owners at least 30 days' notice by email, and continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
